article which was published in our summer
edition by mr.yousef farbodi on "TheEnhancement of
the Equilibrium Theory and its
Role on the Analysis of Bureaucracy."
Studies on bureaucratic organizations received
momentum from Max Weber in early 20th
century. Four types of bureaucratic systems
were identified by Weber. They were
government, professional, mechanistic, and
ideological mr.farbodi explains the
behavior of bureaucratic organizations through
the tenets of equilibrium theory.
Bureaucracies of micro and micro systems
may be studied. The micro level deals with the
organizational dynamics of an individual
organization. The macro level of bureaucracy
refers to the government system of
administrative procedure: While bureaucratic
organizations can facilitate attainment of
organizational objectives, they suffer from a
number of limitations. The author discusses
the strength. and shortcomings of bureaucratic
organizations and explains .how the
Equilibrium Theory may be used to resolve.
internal conflicts that often stern from
bureaucratic procedures. The reconciliation
structure and the adaptive structure of
bureaucratic organizations are also discussed.
