This study aims at a better understanding of the entrepreneurship
phenomenon in Iran. A comprehensive model has been presented that
results from interviews with 35 Iranian entrepreneurs. It should be considered more as a direct observation of entrepreneur's practices rather
than previous theoretical studies. The presented model indicates that starting
entreprenecrship can be achieved through simultaneous gathering of "Entrepreneurial potential", "Tendency towards entrepreneurship" and a "Feasible idea"; the effective factors on these three variables are categorized in three groups of individual characteristics, background and environmental factors. And in this respect has given a multi dimensional perspective to this research. Furthermore, with respect to the entrepreneurial potential and the important factors affecting it, some hypotheses and a questionnaire for field study of these variables are presented. At the end, a domestic definition of
Iranian entrepreneurship will be presented as the conclusion of the present
study.
