Frequent and rapid changes are considered as two specific features of today global economy which has led to increasing competition in business and industrial activities and markets. For this reason concentration on the competitiveness and improvement in industries that try to survive in international markets has a crucial importance.
One of the Iran’s industries which needs improvement in its competitive position is the shrimp culture industry. The present essay evaluates competitiveness level of shrimp industry of Iran based on Michael Porter’s “Diamond of national competitive advantage model”. The results of this study show that this industry is in a lower position compared with its global rivals. This doubles the importance of the managerial efforts for improvement this situation
