In this article, while defining "productivity" in brief and enumerating the ways for increase in the possible productivity rate, the reasons for recourse to the high technology and technological advances have been studied. The necessity for recourse to the high technology has been discussed in contradistinction to the theory of using proper technology. The investigation will also explore the impact of technology on
productivity rate in all its practical and theoretical angles.
In order to promote the productivity rate of production factors, it is inevitable to utilize the high technology and, above all, to adopt a general direction for technological advance. Thus an important question comes up: What type of advanced technology,
labor-intensive or capital intensive, should be used to enhance productivity? In response to this question we may come to this conclusion that if we make use of factors price in proportion to factors share in the productivity rate, the type of technology wi11
not then have any particular impact. For the direction of technological advance is neutral. But if the work starts with
capital intensive techno1ogy, the initial rate of productivity will greatly accelerate. The fieldwork research in Japan , South Korea , Mexico ,Brazil and India has also been introduced in this article.
