Today organizations are confronted with a turbulent environment. Environmental destructions are threatering the existence of entities from every side. Hence organizations will have to recognize their present situations, carefully analyze their strengths and weaknesses, seize the environmental opportunities
and prepare themselves to confront threats. This is only possible by strategic planning. Within the context of a strategic planning, an organization will present an analysis of its capabilities and
environmental situations and will accordingly define the accessible goals and the ways to achieve them. What is especially important
in this respect is to discover how we can formulate a dynamic, practical and strategic planning for an organization. This article introduces models of strategic planning in two parts. In the first part the article deals with a number of consecutively formed
models used in strategic planning. The tabular techniques used in anlyzing the strategic planning are treated in the second part. The
article also discusses the initial steps required for designing strategic planning and surveys the manner of analyzing basic variables.
