Abstract

One of the methods of conducting an opinion survey is "Delphi Method" which is simple and, at the same time, with high reliability. This method is employed at a time when we are facing some constraints in the way of collecting precise information,
designing mathematical and statistical models as well as applying the related formulae and prevailing rules. The opinion poll conducted by using the "Delphi Method" includes receipt of proposals, forecast for contribution towards decision-making as well as achieving the consensus of a number of experts by
questionnaires. This article also focuses on some definitions, applications, different types of Delphi Method, phases of
conventional Delphi along with ratings, appraisals, preferences and its applicability in prioritizing the strategic goals of an
organization. The reader will, in the final analysis, become ful1y conversant with a case study in the area of leather industry.
