The aim of the present study was to explore the relationship between emotional intelligence and transformational leadership. In this regard emotional intelligence assessed by a questionnaire and transformat-ional leadership style measured by the multifactor leadership questionnaire of 33 managers of a manufacturing company, their subordinates provided ratings of their transformational leadership. The obtained results were indicative of a strong relationship between two variables under study (r = .76, p<.01). Analyses of multiple regressions in stepwise method revealed that between the 5 key component of emotional intelligence, 3 components (empathy, self-awareness and motivation) were able to explore .78 deviations of transformational leadership.
