A Glance at Systems Dynamics

Abstract

In the 17th issue of the Management
Knowledge the first part of this article was
published which dealt mainly with four part
hierarchical model such as closed boundry,
feedback loop, status variables and rate
variables.
In this part the phases of Systems Dynamics
studies have been explained, these pahses are:

1.Conceptual. phase,

2. Quantitative phase,

3. Analysis & Evaluative phase.

At the conceptual phase the backgrounds and
Symptoms of the problem has been explained:
* The behavior of the major variables has
been designed and the objective of modeling
has been cleared. The conceptual phase of
modeling in a sense is the skeleton and
comperehensive framework of a model in the
context of a simple dinamic hypothesis.

*, The behavior of the main variables is studied

within the context of past, existing and desired
ones which have been manifested under the
execution of different policies.
* At the quantitative phase the skeleton and
the general framework of the model which has
been designed would be drifted to ward the
real phenomenon.
With the determination of type and quantity of
one of the variables and parameters of the
problem, the model would be built and
executed upon• through utilization of simulation
soft-ware called Dynamo.
* At the analysis and evaluation phase, the
dynamic hypothesis after quantitative planning
and computer execution, would be turned
back again to the conceptual phase and tested
through testing and evaluation. Along the
article the cause/effect relationship with
examples has been explained.
